I'm so sorry to hear about what you're going through. It sounds scary, frustrating, and very hard to deal with. I wonder if you've considered fibromyalgia? I have diabetes and fibro and some of the pain is so similar you can't tell where it originated. And I do know that fibromyalgia can be caused by traumatic injury, plus it's not something that only happens to people my age. Some people have intense pain, like yours, and are quite young, so you might want to do some research.
It does sound more consistent with pinched nerves or trauma than with neuropathy. You say that it started with tingling and numbness in two fingers? Which two fingers was it?
the index and middle finger of my left arm, which does connect with the nerve from the neck, but i'm worrying it's neuropathy because I've been feeling similar pains in other limbs, occasional shooting, pulling pains, even in my legs and feet, though the left arm is constant
It could be a nerve injury causing the pain in the arm, and something else causing the rest. Sometimes pain itself can trigger other things happening down the line. Thing is, doctors usually see a LOT of diabetic neuropathy, and are pretty good at picking it out. Maybe the arm pain brought on a bout of underlying fibromyalgia or something. I don't want to say "no it isn't neuropathy," but what you are describing just doesn't sound like quite like it.
