What kind of qualification is necessary for Korean university positions? I always thought that I might like teaching at a Japanese university, but I didn't think I'd be able to without a degree in ESL.

A masters degree and a year's teaching experience. Helpful if the degree is in an English-related field, but not mandatory. You should think about it!

Are you still in Philly, by the way? Sorry I haven't seen you yet!

I am, but I'm leaving on Sunday for the Peace Boat voyage (www.peaceboat.org if you haven't seen it yet).

And wow, I have that! Do you need to speak Korean at all? 'Cause I don't. XD

Nope, no need to speak Korean. You pick up what you need as you go, and it's helpful to learn the alphabet, but that takes like a half hour of studying. Did you know Japanese before you went there?

How long is the Peace Boat thing? I'll check the site out!
