I have Yahoo! as my homepage. I have an email account no Yahoo! and Yahoo! Sports is where I usually look to find out what's going on with my teams. When I'm there, I tend to glance at the articles before I go wherever I was planning on going.

Today there was an article for women about guys. It said that Guys break down into four typess and how ( Read more... )

Hrm I think the article may just be crap. I haven't ever dated anybody who fit those archetypes. A few were mainly mixtures of two of them, but not a single solid one....

Yeah, I was seeing myself in two or three of them.

I agree with most of it.

And you, by those standards, are undeniably "the Rock".

I think 'undeniably' is a bit strong. A girl would be ok treating me like that, but from what I've experienced, I think "The Sweetheart" gives at least as good of advice if not better for dealing with me.

There is some truth to it . . . but it's way over-simplified. (And after deciding that, I went back up and look at the by-line . . . it was written for Cosmo, and they have a tendancy to dumb everything down.) None of the guys I have ever dated fit completely into one of the catagories mentioned. Most were a mix of all.

But if you want to be pigeon-holed into an over-simplified catagory (I know I get curious about things like that, too) . . . I'd have to say from what I know about you, I agree with melissa . . . you would be "the Rock" . . . then again, the girls I know down here say I act like a guy, so maybe you shouldn't care nearly as much about what I think ;)

Yeah. I think guys are a mix of more than one. This is true for most of personalty break downs. I'm glad that you responded. Since you agreed with mel, it shows that that part of my personality comes out more than others.

When I read through it, the truest line for me, "This idealist falls when he knows you value communication too. Because he tends to ruminate, you'll enhance his life by being decisive yourself." fell under "the Sweetheart."

I think it was the intelligent conversation part, the gadgets and the immersion in what you do that tipped me to that side.

Sweetheart was my second choice for you . . . you know yourself better than I . . . I know you as a Brother, so I don't have the full picture. My guess is that Sweetheart is a better fit if that's the description with which you identify :)

(and I was probably skimming by the time I reached the end of the article - Cosmo does that to me)

:) The nice thing about this article and getting reactions to it is figuring out what kind of guy the girls I date might think I am. Since I tend to date girls within the first couple of months after meeting them, they usually don't know me as well as most of the people that read this LJ. At least when I first start dating them ( ... )
