We had a lengthy conversation about this on RRU some time ago. It seems to be happening more and more - probably as authors and the publishers/editors are relying too much on spell check programs. I do think you should write the publisher. If they don't hear about it, they may not know it's happening or that it bothers readers. Some writers, those with big enough names, are apparently allowed to decide they don't need editors (Bad idea! Like deciding you don't need a beta.)and, again, I think the publisher needs to know that readers are displeased with what they're getting for their money.

I don't know if it would do any good, but I've definitely felt the urge to get out my red pen and send the book back to the editor with all the corrections marked. Instead, I just stopped reading that author. Sometimes I'm too passive for my own good...

Line editing is a thing of the past. Most publishers just use spellcheckers now because they're cheap. Unfortunately they also suck.
