On Saturday I played in a WoW CCG tournament where Jay, Levi and I split the prize. For my $20 entry fee I won $220 and some product so I’m happy with that result. I got dropped of at Woodman’s because I assumed it would take forever and my god was I right. It felt very strange being the person checking labels on everything (I was reminded of ( Read more... )

I too am the person that always looks at the label. You'd be surprised how many canned vegetables are practically worthless as far as nutritional value. Also, if I know I shouldn't eat something, I look at the label. Goodbye ice cream!

Good luck on the life change and best wishes for Pete!

Good luck on the elliptical machine! It's goes by a lot faster when you're listening to music or watching tv. Rock of Love seems to work for me for some very odd reason I could go for a whole hour and not realize that I was on the elliptical. Must be all that rocker chick catfighting?

I wish you luck on changing your health habits for the better! Tuna is delicious to add to foods like tuna salad filling with chopped celery and cashews wrapped up in a whole wheat pita bread. Could add lettuce to that to but the chopped nuts and celery make it crunchy-licious.

Otherwise...guess there's cottage cheese although I'd understand if you don't care for it much but mix/blend that up half and half with a fruit-flavored yogurt for a smoothie that tastes better than it sounds...or looks...or...yeah, it doesn't sound all that appetizing when I actually write it out. ^_^;;;

I know you are a fan of candy... something you might want to look at is the sugar free chocolate. I know that my father gets those when he has a candy craving. I would ask the dietician about it, as it may help you to feel like there is a little bit more normalcy to the switch. I forget the name brand, it might have been Palmer, but they really do taste like normal chocolates with none of the sugar.

I spent from age 15 to age 25 being hypo-glycemic.
To this day I do a lot of label reading.
Things that are your friend:
Nuts.
Peanut-butter.
Eggs.
Tuna.
Beans.
Hummus.
Meat.
Cheese.

Yes, it's going to suck at points. But, it's a good thing you are doing.
