"But... I like Captain Proton," Paris pointed out to Harry.
"I know, buddy," Harry patted him sympathetically on the shoulder. "But since I've been assigned to England, I've been getting into the local culture."
"Local culture? They are still human, aren't they?"
"Americans aren't the only human culture out there, Paris."
"Really?" Tom widened his eyes.
Harry was about to reply when he was paged. "Gotta go, Paris. Enjoy!"
"Hey, how am I supposed to play this 'Doctor' if I don't know about him?"
Harry laughed. "I wouldn't worry. He happens to be visiting the twenty fourth century this week and needs a companion." Harry grinned. "Computer, begin programme!" he called before vanishing off the holodeck.
"Ah, look out!" a call immediately came from his left.
Tom chose to take his advice as the statue hurtled towards him. He just managed to roll out of the way. The owner of the voice ran to his side. "Thanks," Tom told him, breathing heavily. One way to get me into the thick of things, he thought.
"No problem," the man replied, his accent very posh sounding to Tom's ears. "Fortunately, your reflexes are quite good. I'm the Doctor, by the way."
"Tom," he replied, getting up. "Paris. Somebody out to kill me? I only just got here!"
"Ah, I know quite how you feel," the grey hair man in the velvet suit sympathetised. "This whole situation smacks to me of the Master. Shall we find out?"
Tom smiled. "Sure thing, Doc."
"That's 'the Doctor', thank you."
