downton abbey question for my flist

So, does anyone happen to have the Downton Abbey DVDs in region 1 format (that's what plays on USA players) who can tell me if they have English subtitles or closed-captioning? Because my father wants me to get the DVDs ... and I want them ... but this Very Important Information is not listed on either the Amazon or Barnes & Noble websites

I couldn't tell from the reviews on Amazon. Might be worth posting a comment to ask! I downloaded the whole series from the box and the first season in my version isn't but the new season is subtitled so far!

Thanks Zanthine! I may have to get it w/o captions just for my dad to enjoy. He really likes Julian Fellowes' work.
