Heeeeh! I don't think I've ever been assigned to write for someone I know on Yuletide, but it happened several times that I knew the people who were writing for me. Josi and me usually compare our sign-ups beforehand so we don't wind up accidentally writing for each other (one of the reasons why I never offer to write F1 fic, LOL).
