*glomps you* I'm happy you're back to posting on LJ! I enjoy hearing what you're up to, and I'm so glad that you're content with the way things are. ♥
Wandering through Ikea is fantastic, even though I always end up buying stuff that's awesome but which I don't really have any use for, LOL! Leeds sounds very lovely - I think I shall put that on my "places to visit at some point" list. :)
*glomps you back* We went to German Ikea with Val (and the two near-identical Ikea-type shops that were in the same place) and it was just like going to the UK one, which I found quite comforting in a pan-European way *grin*
I know how big your appartment is and I can see why the "places to put stuff/use stuff" is limited. But we've got a 3-bed house so clutter is slightly more welcome (we also have need for much smaller wardrobes and coat-racks that you hehe)
I just booked the end of August off work and I can't wait for the naughty feelings to begin :)
I have problems posting about my day to day life as well, I got to work and that's pretty much all I do most days. I have however discovered that I was very rarely posting about the good days, or the times when I actually have done something after work. I seem to have missed out a whole year of my life on LJ, and I'll never really get that back :( I'm working hard on doing exciting things more now as well!
D talks about Muji endlessly , it's like some kind of Nirvana for him!
There is nothing like a holiday to look forward to. We're spending the start of September down on the south coast (more Chichester neck of the woods, than your personal island - although we might just make it over for the day if I think smart and book a ferry like now)
Any tips on places to go (or if we'd be better just going as foot traffic and grabbing the bus around the highlight towns?)
Your D is my kind of guy. Loves comics, GSOH, has relatives who make AMAZING food, and he's got a thing for stylish but utterly functional stationery. Too bad we're both already taken!!
You'd like Quarr Abbey, the ruined Roman Villa, the Needles, Fort Victoria, the Garlic Farm, the Donkey Sanctuary and there are lots of wonderful views of Culver Down. Places like Ventor, Cowes, Sandown and Ryde all have lovely views as well. There's a whole load of other places here as well, but I've not been to all of them yet :)
The WightLink (I think) tour bus is quite good apparently, not that it leaves you much time for exploring.
