Wink Up June 2014 - Yamada x Okamoto x Arioka x Yabu crosstalk
This is a crosstalk between Yamada, Okamoto, Arioka and Yabu, with a theme of “change”.
Please read till the end for YabuHika :D

Yamada: The theme is “change”. For myself, I am currently thinking of changing. I consulted Dai-chan seriously about 2-3 days ago.
Okamoto: Eh, how will you change?
Yamada: I am really bad at communication. For example even when I go to a drama filming location, I think that I have to connect happily with everyone and so I force myself to entertain but no matter how I am a shy person.
Yabu: Was this also the case during the filming of Kindaichi?
Arioka: That’s right~ He also conveys this when we are at interviews. Yamada will suddenly say “Ne, what should I do to be able to talk to people properly?” (laugh)
Okamoto: So what did Dai-chan reply?
Arioka: I said “Isn’t it fine not to create a false front? You can start by asking questions like where do you stay…?” Yamada is serious and he can’t approach people with a light feeling.
Yamada: That’s right! I agree!
Okamoto: Why are you using Kansai dialect (laugh)
Yabu: Dai-chan who is beside him is really good at this though.
Yamada: That’s right! This person is a genius who can enter anyone’s conversation (laugh)! I have been observing Dai-chan and when he is talking to the staff, he adds in informal language among the formal language he uses. “Ehh, is that so? It is the first time I have heard of it! Awesome~ Serious~!” That blend of language is really amazing (laugh)! It is the moment where a cup of bitter coffee has milk added into it to make it mild (laugh)
Arioka: Ahahaha! I am such a person (laugh) I didn’t realize it at all myself.
Yabu: Ho!! You have said something good (Pretending to take a memo and writing) Adding milk into coffee…..
Yamada: You don’t have to take that down (laugh). The harder I try the stiffer I get and I turn a little blunt instead (laugh)
Yabu: I am like that too. It seems like I am thought of a person who is difficult to deal with.
Okamoto: I know! When I first met you, you had an image which seems like you were hard to approach!
Arioka: I think it is definitely due to the positions we had when we were juniors? He was right at the top of the juniors, and a person who was sparkling, perfect and doing things properly… that was his image.
Yamada: But when you know him he is the opposite (laugh)
Arioka: Yes yes. Just like the coffee and milk part just now, I think it would be good if you could show more of that..
Yabu: Although I can understand that in my head, but no matter how I need time to be able to get used to it. Keito isn’t someone who is shy when it comes to strangers.
Okamoto: That’s right. I am fine even with people I meet for the first time. I take the initiative to talk to them.
Arioka: That’s a nice American guy.
Okamoto: Erm, I am from England though. You shouldn’t be making these kind of mistakes now right (laugh)
Arioka: Ah~ Sorry sorry sorry! Also speaking of change, it was my birthday yesterday and I am now a year older!
Okamoto: Did all the birthday mails come flooding in when it reached 12 midnight?
Arioka: It was really bad! The phone kept ringing and the mail notifications wouldn’t stop! ……Sorry that’s a lie (laugh)
Yamada: I was the one who said “Happy Birthday” first! Because we were at work together during that time.
Arioka: That’s right. I forgot about my own birthday. But once it turned 12 midnight, Yamada walked briskly to me and whispered in my ear “Happy birthday”. (laugh)
Yabu: I sent the birthday mail at 12:03am!
Okamoto: I sent it too! I was wondering what should I attach with the mail and so I attached a picture of a birthday cake which I received the other day (laugh)
Arioka: Yeah. I received a photo of a birthday cake on top of a plate which was written with “Happy Birthday Keito” (laugh). It was a blessed day. What is Keito’s change?
Yamada: He doesn’t try to act cool as much as last time. We still see such a side of him sometimes though. (laugh)
Yabu: Though it is a magazine shoot and we are supposed to smile, Keito gives a posed look (laugh)
Okamoto: Because everyone has told me that, I have started to grow aware of it myself and I am in the midst of changing! (laugh)
Yabu: Yes yes. For the crosstalk between the other four, seems like their topic on change would be “We have managed to have a 7 gathering, so the atmosphere between 7 has changed”.
Yamada: It has really changed!
Yabu: That piece of information was also conveyed to us. It feels like the wall of Berlin has really been torn down…
Yamada: Hahaha! Was it such a strong wall? (laugh) But seriously, it is an atmosphere now where the remains of the wall do not even exist.
Okamoto: Firstly during the first 7 gathering, I almost cried.
Arioka: Eh, cried?! What happened to cause that (laugh) We haven’t heard about this in detail.
Yabu: They had a 7 gathering, and the relationship between Yamada and Yuto deepened… I have only heard of this roughly though.
Yamada: He talked really deeply about his own thoughts to us and he was probably so overcome with emotions that he almost cried.
Okamoto: It was really a gathering which was very heated up! I want to be able to squeeze out these words from my heart like “I really like everyone!” (laugh)
Yamada: I will reply in response to that “We like you too!”
Arioka: What’s with this sultry feeling (laugh)!
Okamoto: Yesterday 7 was also squabbling over “I like you” (laugh)
Yabu: Serious! BEST also says that but instead of saying it passionately…. it feels more like fun? (laugh)
Arioka: What’s this~ It seems that BEST cannot afford to be careless. Because we haven’t had a BEST gathering recently. Seems like we have lost out on the frequency?
Yabu: That’s right. We had it in the beginning and we built up quite a good base.
Yamada: Though we don’t have it so often like weekly but it happened quite frequently. All the members weren’t present but those who could attend were there.
Arioka: And every time you all had such passionate conversations?
Yamada: We basically hug each time.
Arioka: Your viewpoint of distance is undefeatable (laugh)
Okamoto: Yesterday we hugged while saying “We are good~”, and hugged again while saying “We are the best~”…. And we kept repeating it (laugh). Yama-chan also stopped calling Yuto “Yuto-kun”.
Yabu: Eh? You mean you had been adding the -kun till now?
Yamada: But when we are alone it sometimes becomes Yutti. (laugh) Yuto and Yutti is a good blend.
Arioka: I am someone who uses formal language with informal language! (laugh) How does 7 see BEST?
Yamada: Well~ you have a long way to go. You all have to use your real intention to collide with each other!
Yabu: Ho! Giving negative remarks? (laugh)
Yamada: The next one would be “YabuHika” isn’t it!
Arioka & Okamoto: Ohhhhhh~ So it is about that!
Yabu: Eh, Hikaru? You mean I have to quarrel with Hikaru and after that hug him while saying “You are the best!”? …………..that’s impossible (laugh)
Yamada: It is not like I meant Hikaru-kun and Yabu-chan are on bad terms with each other.
Arioka: Ahh, I think I somehow understand what Yamada is trying to say. Somehow the both of you, it is not till the extent that there is this invisible wall between you….. So it should be the “net of Berlin” (laugh)!
Okamoto: Ahahahaha! Isn’t that transparent!
Arioka: Rather than talking to each other with reservations, there is this atmosphere where they do not step out.
Yabu: We aren’t passionate? (laugh)
Yamada: Yes yes. When both of you stick together, we also go “Ohhh~~~!!” There is definitely this special feeling about the both of you.
Yabu: Well now that you mentioned it, even if I have some thoughts regarding Hikaru, I think “But if I say this there will be a rebuttal and seems like it will become something really troublesome…. So I shall not”.
Yamada: See? I know that. We can see this line which you can’t overcome. That is why, we want both of you to fight it out once and for all, a loud and showy fight.
Yabu: We had a cute fight in the past though. As for a huge fight and saying everything out, we haven’t had it even once.
Arioka: Then let’s have it soon. That kind of very heated up gathering. Would it be good if your seats are beside each other? Or would it be better if you face each other? (laugh)
Yabu: Eh…………… well, facing each other then (laugh). I basically like looking at Hikaru when he is in a bad mood. So I sometimes use words to make him irritated on purpose. (laugh)
Arioka: That’s sadistic (laugh). But if you guys are serious and the atmosphere gets very bad, you would definitely start playing around on purpose right?
Yabu: That pattern is 100%.
Yamada: That shouldn’t be the way. Treat him as a person from your work and group and say out all your thoughts!
Okamoto: I want to see it, it seems scary though (laugh)
Yamada: If it is awkward in front of everyone, you all can have a room by yourselves. Ah, but we will attach a camera (laugh)
Arioka: We will do the monitoring.
Yamada: Yes yes. That can be a Wink Up crosstalk too (laugh)
Yabu: And the day after that gathering, I will be holding hands with Hikaru while walking into the rehearsal studio, will everyone pretend not to see it?
Everyone: We will we will!
Arioka: Let us see that, the YabuHika legend!
Yabu: Then, can I turn this into a stageplay?
Everyone: Yes yes yes yes!
Yabu: I didn’t expect such desirable feedback! (laugh) Well, I don’t know if I will be able to answer to everyone’s expectations, but I want to have a JUMP gathering with all the 9 of us.
Okamoto: I want to have it! We haven’t had a JUMP gathering at all yet.
Arioka: And at the end the 9 of us will hug while saying “JUMP is the best!” right? What a hot-blooded group (laugh)
Yamada: Isnt that good, isn’t that good. Let’s aim to be such a group! (laugh)
