So I didn't get hit by a bus after all! Hooray for me!

Here's what's happening in the ol' Diamond-Pick life. Please make up any details that I fail to provide.

• I made a baby.
  
• Gremlin Baby is now 10.5 months old. He has lots of teeth, fingers, and toes, and started walking before he was 8 months old.

• New baby is still cooking

what sort of time are you aiming at for this marathon?

I'll be happy to break 4 hours. I can keep an 8 mile pace for 10 miles no problem, but I've never gone that far before. I think it'll be OK.

I've only done it alone and even then it is really difficult not to go too fast early on. The first time (when I was about 15) I measured my own course on the map at home and did just over 3.30. I tmay have been out by a mile or so but it had loads of big hills in it so that was a good effort.

Then I ran the Cleveland marathon course which began outside my work after a period in which I'd done only one run of longer than seven miles in a few years. That one felt really easy for the first half and I was on course to beat my 3.30 time when I suddenly hit the wall, and then compounded matters by falling over twice while trying to take a drink from Chloe. After that (in the ghetto section) I had to alternate between running and walking as my legs kept tying up. I paced myself to make the finish in just under 4 hrs.
