Tutorial #1: Twiggy

Ok everyone, this is my first tutorial. Tell me what you think.

Using PS7 (not translatable, sorry.)



Step One
Duplicate your base, set it to Screen (100%)

Step Two
New adjustment layer > Hue/Saturation.
Hue: 0
Saturation: +45.
Lightness: 0

Step Three
New adjustment layer > Selective Color.
Reds
C: -80
M: -20
Y: +75
B: 0

Yellows
C: -95
M: +25
Y: +100
B: 0

Magentas
C: +100
M: +100
Y: +100
B: 0

Neutrals
C: +70
M: -25
Y: -40
B: 0

Step Four
New adjustment layer > Hue Saturation
Hue: 0
Saturation: +45
Lightness: 0

Step Five
New fill layer > Solid color (#000000)
Set the Layer to Soft Light (60%)

Step Six
I take this texture by peoplemachines and set it to Screen (100%).

These icons are made with the same technique as the tutorial, but on the screen layer I went to Image > Adjustments > Variations: More Cyan. It works if you want to give your icon a bit more color. :)
