I know since I’ve been absent for so long that everyone’s very interested in what it is I’m watching right now (everyone who remembers me, that is - probably all 3 of you). But I’m posting this anyway! Because I feel like gushing again! So here I go!
New Shows:
+
Ringer: YEAH I’M INTO IT. Fingers crossed it doesn’t get cancelled due to its atrocious numbers. WHY AREN’T MORE PEOPLE WATCHING THIS IT’S CRAZY BUT IN THE BEST WAY POSSIBLE! Watch this vid and then tell me you don't wanna get sucked into this crack:

Pan Am: Two episodes in and two thumbs WAY UP. I actually like everyone and am psyched to see where they'er all taken throughout the series - even the dorky little spy plot lol. I thought ship-wise I was gonna go Dean/Maggie after the pilot aired but then that angle seemed to be dropped in the second ep, and I couldn’t moan about it too long (or at all) because this happened:
via
hey-moonOf course there will be the inevitable triangle/heartbreak when Dean’s runaway girlfriend comes back and he chooses her over Colette, but I feel I’ve already begun to prepare myself for when that day comes. For now, HELL YES I will take all the flirty glances and romantic drunken dancing you want to throw at me.
+
New Girl: Delightfully quirky pilot, but the second and third eps have yet to capture the magic of the first, but they’re trying and I’m still mostly charmed, but get it together show! It can’t all depend on Smidt being a douchebag (but a RAD douchebag who wants to watch Curly Sue) and Jess trying to not to act like her naturally crazy self.
+
Hart of Dixie: Dr. Zoe Hart = Dr. Summer Roberts, BUT DO YOU SEE ME COMPLAINING? Sure, it’s pretty much Sweet Home Alabama and every other rom com rolled into one, BUT DO YOU SEE ME COMPLAINING?
It’s nothing super special, but it’s got Bilson being her ever charming self and Scott Porter with a southern accent being his ever charming self along with a 5-sided triangle (a quintangle?) already in place, so there’s guaranteed fun watching how that plays out.
Returning Shows:
+
The Good Wife: SOOOOOO GOOOOOOOD. And Eli has an office at Lockhart/Gardner which makes for a new fun and interesting dynamic and a plethora of potential storylines - PLUS MORE ELI/ALICIA WHICH IS ALWAYS WELCOME ALWAYS. And they’re handling Will/Alicia pretty magnificently so far, as well as the new Peter/Alicia/Kids separation situation. Diane continues to be stunning and gorgeously intelligent and Kalinda and Cary (even with your crappy haircut) and OH GOD I’VE JUST MISSED ALL OF YOU.
+
The Vampire Diaries: WHAT IS LIFE?! A+ season so far, although Klaus is kind of a loser at being an evil mastermind. He was much more menacing and scary when he was, y’know, not actually around. Elijah come back! You at least carried yourself like you were over a thousand fucking years old and were obvs a bajillion times better than lame-o Klaus. But everything is progressing nicely and, suffice it to say, they’ve got PLENTY to work with this season. ALSO, ALL THE LADIES ARE STILL AMAZEBALLS: CAROLINE (!!!!), KATHERINE (I love how she just pops up out of nowhere and just stabs someone to save Stefan), ELENA, BONNIE AND ANNA (oh god that triangle what am I gonna dooooo????). Keep ruling the world girls. THIS SEASON?
+
Hawaii Five-0:Jenna, what the hell??? WHAT’S GOING ON THERE? I also don’t like the fact that Kono got de-badged, but that better mean the dudes working to clear her name (of a crime she totally actually committed). It’s also hilarious that a day after losing her case to IA she’s dressing all in slutty black and riding around in big black vehicles with shady looking characters, BECAUSE SHE’S SO HARD AND DAMAGED NOW. Also, NOT ENOUGH STEVE AND DANNO IN THE LAST EPISODE. WHAT UP SHOW? But Steve, please keep saving people mid-air and doing other ridiculously unbelievable and awesome things like it.
+
Happy Endings: SHOW, YOU'RE BACK! My feelings in a gif:
Lets hope you're not cancelled midseason.
+
Community: I don’t know what’s going on with this season, but I’m hoping things pick up once the Halloween episode rolls around, which is what’s basically happened the last two seasons. But re: the first 3 episodes, we’re teetering in between “That’s pretty great” to “Mehhh” - and not consistently within the episodes either. Get it together show.
+
Parks & Recreation: Nothing but ice cream cones and puppies and flowers and pixie dust. The stars don’t leave my eyes until at least an hour after watching the episode, that’s how magical it is.
+
Downton Abbey: Julian Fellows sets out to destroy all my emotions with every episode. I love everyone yet am still able to have minor issues with each of them because they are all people and not everyone is perfect - well everyone except Lady Mary of course. And Lady Violet.
And Anna, stop being practically perfect in every way with your face and your moon-baby Bates. But srsly, stop offering yourself up as a mistress. Just, no. Sybil, I love you and you’re my girl, but I feel like I still don’t know who you are! I know you’re an idealist, but why??? Yes, we were given a brief glimpse into your reasons for becoming a nurse, but I’m gonna need a bit more from you, ok? Branson, glad to finally see you’ve been given some background and depth, even though we find out you’re just as naïve an idealist as Sybil - cow patty slop? the Russian revolutionaries wouldn’t kill young princesses? Oh boy…You’re in for a rude awakening my friend. But you two are still my ship, even though I totes love Mary/Matthew and Anna/Bates too.
+
Merlin: Merlin, you and me had our issues last series, but the first two eps of S4 give me hope that I will not spend this year only bitching about you. OK, so far lots of thoughts. First up: Who is this dude all up in court oh he’s Arthur’s uncle is he good or eviiil oh I guess he’s eviiil ok it’s good to have that out of the way I GUESS? That reveal on Agravaine as a baddie came waaay too early (OR IS HE???) Actually, he probably is - inappropriate UST with an “enemy” usually = EVIL. Plus it’s a family show - gotta keep is straightforward for the kids! No shades of grey here! Though speaking of - MORGANA. Morgana is freaking BADASS and not in an annoying way, mainly because she’s calmed it down with the smirking. MUCH APPRECIATED KATIE, THANK YOU. I’m gonna pretend that hesitancy and look of uncertainty after hearing of Arthur’s plan to sacrifice himself, was you feeling, y’know, actual feeelings - sad, regretful, heartbroken, complicated feeeeeelings. She also just killed her sister, so that’s gotta mess a person up. I also love that she’s still referred to as “the Lady Morgana”. THAT’S RIGHT BITCHES, STILL GETTING RESPECT, EVEN WHEN EVIIIIIL.
via
goldenalbartross.tumblrAs for Arthur, ditch Gwen and go search the woods, find Morgana and be super-secret sexy half-siblings together. Yeah, I went back and did a series 1 re-watch and got sucked into the ArMor chemisty/kink over haitus, ngl. I STAND BY IT AND I REGRET NOTHING.
via
goldenalbartross.tumblrAs for Gwen - meh. But know who’s not “meh”? THE KNIGHTS. THEY ARE ALL AROUND GREAT.
And HEY GWAINE, Mr. “oh hey we’re in a ghost town hunting/being attacked by ghosts - I’m just gonna chomp on this apple, NO BIG THING.”
And Lancelot and Merlin, still magical-secret-keeping BFF BROS. And Merlin’s hysterically just not even trying to hide it anymore BUT OBVS everyone is totes like “DERP DERP oh hey look the danger’s gone now! HOORAY for us!....What did we do again?”. But, but then Lancelot…. NOOOOOOOO, WHAT IS THIS I DON’T UNDERSTAND WHY CAN’T MERLIN HAVE A FRIEND AND OH GOD DO I REALLY SHIP GWEN/LANCE I GUESS I DO. And oh jesus let me just watch Arthur clue in and feel his heart break a million times more b/c BRADLEY JAMES JUST STOP IT WITH YOUR FACE.
But yes, I am hopeful about this series, though I am aware that Morgana is now completely EVIL in the eyes of this show and will probably spend most of the series plotting against Camelot and having her plans thwarted by Merlin, and the Arthur/Gwen romance will build even more, but if the series can live up to
this trailer, then everything will be A-OK.
So yeah, there are others I'm sure I've forgotten (like up all night, revenge, law & order: uk, and newly finished shows like doctor who, torchwood: miracle day, suits and necessary roughness) that I've been attempting to juggle as well ( I also intend on watching the hour and catching up on luther), and it would appear I do nothing but spend my days keeping up with about a billion shows - which I would obviously be very happy to do, as would anyone here I think (IF ONLY GRAD SCHOOL AND MY MILLION JOBS WOULD LET THAT BE SO!!) But anyway, SO GLAD tv is back (for real) and it's looking like it's gonna be pretty great - many questions will be raised, many lessons will be learned, many mysteries will be solved, and many gratuitous shots of shirtless men will be appreciated (obviously I'm looking at you, Bradley). It's gonna be a good year.
