PersonalityLike the stuffed variety, Banjo is big, comfy and loveable, always ready with a goofy smile and a hearty "a-hyuk!" for his friends. Very much a country bear, Banjo finds himself more at home sitting around at home or in the woods and enjoying some pizza or plucking on his banjo than at a cafe in the big city. But whenever adventure or danger calls, he's more than willing to answer the challenge. He will rise to the occasion, be it a kidnapped sister, a ray gun threatening to suck the life force out of every living thing, or just to defend his home. Often accused of being stupid thanks to his carefree nature, the accusation is only partly true. Banjo is not the sharpest tool in the shed, but when he sets his mind on something, he'll pursue it with devotion, often not knowing when to quit ( ... )

BackstoryBanjo and his sister Tooty were born on Spiral Mountain, in a small cabin under the face of a tall mountain. They lost their parents when they were very young, and Banjo took it upon himself to be the man of the house in their absence. He did whatever he could to take care of himself, his home, and his sister as they grew up, and their lives were quiet and for the most part uneventful ( ... )

In the years that followed, Tooty got older and decided she wanted to find herself some REAL adventure. And so she packed her things and left Spiral Mountain to seek fame and fortune. Banjo rarely hears from her and has not seen her in a long time. While she was gone, Grunty came back twice more, once as a time travelling robot who tried to prevent Banjo and Kazooie from ever meeting, and again as a skeleton trying to restore herself to life. After defeating her again and again, they thought it was finally over. And so with nothing left to do, Banjo and Kazooie became lazy. Sitting around at home, enjoying pizza and playing video games, they got very much out of shape for the next 10 years. But as fate would have it, that's just how long it took for Grunty's skull to roll itself all the way from the Isle o' Hags to Spiral Mountain ( ... )

Misc. Notes- Banjo is in love with Kazooie (D'AWWWWWW). He's afraid to tell her, not so much because of the species barrier but because she's his best friend and he's worried about damaging their relationship if she doesn't love him back ( ... )
