DIAMOND CITY STARBEANS SUPPORTING CHARACTER ADOPTION POST
Note: This is NOT the character applications page. To apply for regular characters: Reserve + Apply
General NPC Restrictions (no apps needed)
None, really (save for one pokemon rule) Unless the system one day gets abused beyond control, characters are allowed to have all the pets, family members, students, pokemon, bosses, offscreen co-workers, waddle dees, or other relevant NPCs as feel necessary. Remember that Pokemon trainers can still only carry six pokemon at a time, but we're not going to monitor your Bill's PC usage unless you start pulling out legendaries.
Pokemon Trainers cannot own Legendaries. We need them to rampage the city!
The Above NPCs do not need to be apped! You don't need to be at this page for them. Go away!
Supporting Character Apps (Formally known as City NPCs)
Shopkeepers or other key characters, These NPCs Supporting Cast Members keep the city moving and come to the fore when needed. As great as it is to see the likes of the Bombchu Bowling alley chick and Shabunga, who really wants to put so much elbowgrease on a proper application and the character ends up developmentally useless?
+ Supporting CharactersDo not count towards your party limit. If you have a full party of seven, you can still adopt someone.
+ Players must have at least one active character and must show good activity ethic (the mods are watching) in ne allowed a supporting character.
+ Supporting Characters can have their own journals, but must not make any actual journal entries (they will be used for logs and such) and character development must be minimal. If you want to develop him/her into a regular character, you're welcome to app him officially. They will also not appear on the add/drop list.
+ They can start logs and if business oriented, can post advertisements in diamondnews.
+ For the most part, only canon NPCs, OC Pokemon or Drones can be supporting characters. Main characters such as Luigi or a Paper Mario party member can not be adopted. Tayce T. can be adopted. The mods will be the judge of what you bring up. They will NOT count towards the Pokemon/Drone cap but will count as a taken character.
+ These guys can be shared or swapped. That's for the players to discuss with each other about.
+ If you drop a supporting character, you can adopt someone else in a month if your activity is still good.
+ If you give your supporting character to someone else to app into a regular character, you can pick up a new character right away for good karma.
+ No Reserves. First come, First serve.
+Instead of writing a sample post, you will test-run this character at diamondcity_dr and provide a link to one or more threads showing how this character interacts with others. Character doesn't have to start the actual posts; threads in response to others' posts are acceptable, too. We want to see you make good use of an NPC, not write English Papers! And we trust that you know your canon.
+ No need to respond to approvals with the NPC's journal if you apped with it.
