School is starting in like, eight hours. *sadface* Mini-chapter! I didn't know how to link it otherwise. xD;; (The next bit's done, though~)
74-M, reflecting.
( 31.5: you are my sunshine )
Tamamori floated in space.
Space was nice.
A little more decorated than his blueroom... well. A lot more decorated, actually. There were so many more stars than what you could see from down on Earth... well. Another correction: no stars were visible from Earth anymore. But from space, there were so many more stars than what you could see from a scenario with breathable atmosphere...
Beneath him, the planet rotated slowly, blue and green and white. Colourful, the way it looked before everybody had ruined it. It was a very popular vista for those who fancied themselves nostalgic. There were only two key differences between them and Tamamori: firstly, the fact that Tamamori wasn't nostalgic, and secondly the fact that regular people saw things from the inside of a space shuttle.
Tamamori kept his back to the sun for the ease of ignoring its glare. It wasn't hot at all -- vacuum didn't do the whole heat thing after all -- but remarkably enough he wasn't freezing either. Or suffocating. Or spontaneously combusting. Or burning from the unshielded radiation. Tamamori smiled, vaguely, having managed to null those fundamental scenario rules from affecting his avatar. A small space station representing his blueroom hung in orbit beside him, but he'd stay out here for now. Space was good for thinking, with its anti-gravity script. As your body drifted, so did your mind...
Tamamori's mind had begun to wear a default channel with its drifting though, as if recently all mental roads lead to Miyata.
宮田俊哉.
It'd first come to Tamamori the other day in the cove, such a simple revelation yet so startling it was like an epiphany in hindsight: Miyata was, simply, the only person Tamamori could spend endless amounts of time with and never feel anything but comfortable.
Miyata made him feel good. Not a bother. Never self-conscious. He liked Miyata's company, and he liked Miyata himself...
And obviously Miyata liked Tamamori too -- at least a little more than a bit -- or he wouldn't have kissed him that time...
Absently, Tamamori touched his lower lip. And stared off into space. And wondered... and thought...
Miyata wasn't online right now, but he would be soon since it was a regular work day. Having no commissions to distract himself with currently, Tamamori couldn't do much in the meantime but let his thoughts chase themselves around in his head. Silly thoughts, crazy thoughts, like how good did he make Miyata feel in return? How good could he make Miyata feel...?
He had a private bet running with his own ego that said "I bet Y00's skates on 'Pretty damn good'..." Which had acquired a counter-wager by an annoying little Nikaido voice in the back of his head to the tune of "Hahaha, you're a hacker you loser. When's the last time you even touched someone like that for real?"
Tamamori ignored that one though. He wanted to at least try. If nothing else, it would be a shame to never find out, right...? Miyata wouldn't mind. Probably.
In the distance beyond the curve of the Earth a bright star became visible, catching Tamamori's eye. Upon closer inspection it didn't twinkle like a star, its steady light white and unwavering: Venus had risen. Tamamori smiled.
Closing his eyes, he concentrated for a moment and felt the sun on his skin again, as the sounds and smells of the sea filled his senses. Sand warmed his feet, getting between his toes; the cove was at high noon by the feel of it. On the warm side, but that had probably been a subconscious selection based on emotion. Miyata, come to think of it, sometimes chose such temperatures.
No matter. Shrugging out of his loose linen button-down shirt, Tamamori placed it on the sand and sat down, sending out a mental invitation like he'd done a hundred times before. They could adjust the scenario later. Miyata would only be a few more minutes...
