Hmm. You're kind of in the rare (and enviable) position of having plenty of leeway - because you still have time at Symantec, and after that, because you have a huge buffer before you need work. I'd say take the job only if you know you'll be happy with it.

Yeah... I actually wanted to move to Seattle right after I graduated from college, but then the opportunity at Symantec came up, and I couldn't turn it down.

Thanks for the advice! The position I am in is definitely a fortunate one, and I think I should take advantage of that. I don't want to accept a job simply because it's the only offer I've received. And I'm not sure that I'd be happy at Barracuda Networks, so I'd rather wait until I find a company/job that I'm positive about, just like when I accepted the job at Symantec.

Maybe it's just me but it doesn't really sound like your heart's into this job. It doesn't seem like you are that excited about it other than having the security of a full-time paying job. I think you sound more inclined to turn it down, but whatever you decide, I hope you feel happy and that you made the right decision!

You're absolutely right. My heart really isn't into this job. I would be taking it for the security, experience, and professional advancement. But I think I would dread going into work everyday, and I would forever regret not taking the opportunity to move to Seattle. My heart's there.
