It's too bad you have to sign up with CIngular to actually use the iPhone. I had Cingular in college and the reception was so bad that I switched the Verizon. It's too bad they aren't yet offering the iPhone with other carriers.

get it unlocked... but then you'll have to pay more probably since you don't get the sign on discount.

Yeah, I was thinking about that - I need to do some research to find out what it'll take to unlock it and how much it'll cost. But you're right - it'll probably cost more without the two-year contract.
