I just found out that my flight tomorrow to Vietnam is 20 hours long. Wow, here I thought it would be just 12 hours. And right now it's around 5 pm in Vietnam. Holy time difference, Batman!
I hear that going isn't as bad as coming back, in terms of jet lag. Should be a really interesting trip in any case, I wish I could go! I'd love to try some of the food over there. :-)
The flights weren't too bad, though it felt much longer going than coming back. I did pretty well with adjusting to the 15 hour time difference when I got there, but coming back was another story! I'm still trying to catch up on my sleep!
Anyway, I hope you get a chance to go sometime. I'll likely go back in about a year and a half, if you'd like to join me. The food is awesome! Actually, that was probably my favorite thing about Saigon. :)
Of course! I could go on about the food there! Seriously, it was delicious! I was worried that I wouldn't be able to eat anything without regretting it later, but I ended up eating a lot. We'll have to catch up sometime soon, and I can tell you all about the trip. :)
The plane tickets were around $800. The price is higher if you go during the holidays and Vietnamese Tet; otherwise, the cost is typically around $800-900. If you visit several cities in Vietnam, it's definitely worth it.
Thanks! I took soooo many photos. I'm still trying to go through them all, but I'll try to get my website updated this weekend. Chris and I are planning to do major house cleaning because his dog is now with his parents in CT, so we're going to make the house dog hair-free.
Anyway, not too many stories, though I guess I have a few to tell. Mostly about how terribly rude people there are and how my expectations of people are too high (as you and my mom have mentioned).

How much were the plane tickets, if you don't mind me asking?

Takes lots of photos!
I except lots of stories too.
I don't think I could handle 20 hours on a plane, I get really batty on a 5 hour flight as it is!
