Ok, first the news of their deaths was shocking and sad, but then it became horrendously horrid. Things are getting stupid now. JAMES BROWN DIED 2 MONTHS AGO AND HAS STILL NOT BEEN BURIED, cos of relatives squabbling over his corpse. And of course poor Anna is still not laid to rest, either, cos of legal squabbling and greedy necrophilia.

the james brown thing--I mean, with anna nicole it's fucked, but somehow not surprisingly fucked, wrong but sort of like kidnappers killing their hostages vs. a car bombing fucked; but TWO MONTHS?! What kind of possible wrangling could there be about this? There was a case of divorced, geographically distant parents arguing over where their KIA (Iraq) son should be buried, and that got to me, but two months?! Maybe there was some benefit to be had from the old fear that if you don't get them in the ground quick they'll come back (or not be properly transubstantiated into the afterlife, etc). Anyone who argues that long over a body have to sit with it in a small, unventilated room for the duration of the debate; a bad image, but maybe it'd cut down on this crap. Unless it's a fight over cryogenic preservation, since that makes sense to me, a la Dimaggio.
