So a gopher is a small rodent that burrows underground and lives in tunnels. They look sort of like prairie dogs or squirrels I guess, and if Caddyshack is to be believed they are very mischievous, haha!
Now I'm not sure its really a gopher or just a mouse/rat in the house, but I'm hoping that whatever it is its gone now.
I can't say I've ever heard of a gopher living in a wall, don't they dig holes in the yard? I'm guessing mouse. We used to get random ones at the old house in the colder months and we'd hear them scratching about. (Until we got carrot!)
I researched quickly (because um, I always over research.)
"Gophers create a large community of tunnels with large mounds of dirt at their entrances, frequently referred to as "towns". Adult gophers will frequently stand watch at the entrance to a tunnel and whistle when predators are spotted, causing all the other gophers to run for the safety of the tunnels. A gopher town can easily spread to take over large sections of prairie or mountain meadow and may have a population in the thousands. The resulting destruction of plant life will then leave the area a stretch of denuded dirt. Gophers eat shrubs and other vegetation. Owls occasionally eat gophers."
Tunnels! Like.. um.. moles and ants. Plus they're freaking cute as heck!
I think you might be right, its probably not a gopher. But it made me feel better for a little while to think it because somehow gopher in the house sounds much cuter than mouse or rat, haha, idk why.
But on the plus side I haven't heard any more noises, so maybe its gone anyway?? *hopes*
I would TOTALLY FREAK OUT if a gopher were in my room. A mouse fell from the window blinds and then ran under my bed and I started to cry. I hope it wasn't in your room, just maybe in between walls? GOOD LUCK, LADY <3
OMG I WAS TOTALLY FREAKING OUT. I don't know if it was really a gopher or mouse or what, but I haven't heard anything since now, so I'm hoping it stays that way. Thanks for your support! <3
