I was gonna do an intro post with an intro vlog for all my new friends, and for those who don't know me very well already, but I just couldn't come up with what I would say in such a video. So I just did a normal one instead ( Read more... )

Hey hey. I think it's really cool that you do vlog posts. I would never have the courage to talk in front of the camera without having a script or everything planned out in advance. And you've just totally made me look into buying the Percy Jackson books. I was interested when I saw the film trailers, but now I'm gonna do it :)

Haha, thanks! I try to plan it out a little bit, otherwise I get REALLY rambly and there's lots of long pauses and "um"s. Well, I guess there are still a lot of "um"s, but oh well.

YES PERCY JACKSON! BE ON BOARD! I really really enjoyed the books, the first time I read through them I was like, up all night reading because I couldn't put them down! I think they get compared to Harry Potter a lot, and that's definitely not going to go away when the movies come out, but they are pretty different, even though they have a similar feel, I suppose. Anyway, I really hope you enjoy them, I think you will!

Oh, the choice between knitting and painting your nails. *overly dramatic sigh* Knitting almost always wins for me, because my nails always chip really fast, so it tends to feel not worth it. But nail polish is so pretty...

I'm always so torn between them! But if my nails are chipped then I definitely repaint them, because I can't stand that. At least with a quick dry topcoat I can knit most of the night and then paint my nails right before bed and they won't get all messed up while I'm sleeping. That way I can do both, kinda. haha.

Thanks! Its been really fun to knit! This is the other one that I made for myself here on my dailybooth.

It does look like Austin now that I'm re-watching! I didn't notice at the time, but yeah, the river and the buildings do kinda look it. Part of the city (Old Town Sacramento) still is all gold-rush era architecture, so that definitely is NOT very Austin-y, haha.

First, I love the beret you are knitting. I looks so delicate and fancy! Very nice. Makes me wish I had the attention span to knit (I tried, but unless it's a quick project I tend to abandon things)!

I am interested in reading the Percy Jackson books now. It's been a while since I've read a good series, perhaps this will hit the spot? I haven't seen much promo for the movie, which I find odd considering the number of big names in it. Maybe I just haven't been paying attention.

Nail polish is so fun. I went through a phase where I changed colors almost every day. I haven't done that in a very long time though. With my current job I do a lot of dishwashing/cleaning so it's been a while since my nails were anything but their boring, normal selves.
