Tonight I went to the Author reading and book signing for SFinSF with Suzi, the authors were Gail Carriger and Blake Charlton. It was so much fun! Blake was hilarious and I really enjoyed hearing his talk, and of course Gail was great as well. I bought Soulless and Changeless, the first two books of the Parasol Protectorate by Gail, but I may get ( Read more... )

You Say Tomato is one of my new favorite places in the city. The guy who owns it is so nice also. I told him that I liked his model Dalek and we had a 15 minute conversation about Doctor Who. Did you see his Doctor Who posters?

I tried Jelly Babies for the first time a couple of weeks ago also. The texture surprised me at first but I really like them. Except for the black/purple ones. I ended up just tossing those out.

I need to to back and stock up on my tea. And Jelly Babies. :) Whats some other goods from there that you like? I want some new Brit goods to try.

I did notice all his awesome doctor who stuff! I didn't say anything, though.

I liked the Jelly Babies, too, even the blackcurrant flavor. I also bought a Cadbury Dairy Milk Caramel chocolate bar and tea when I went. I didn't try any of the savory things, I just stuck with the tea and candy. :D You should defo try the Cadbury bars if you haven't before.

I was also kinda tempted by some of the flavors of crisps, but didn't go for any. The one thing that I was a little annoyed by was that I couldn't see prices marked anywhere. I mean, I was expecting things to be more expensive because they were imported, which is fine, but I felt like I might have made some different decisions if I could have estimated my total ahead of time. Maybe I'm just blind, though.

I totally agree about the lack of prices. That was annoying, come to think of it ( ... )

Thats right. I just say post haste. GET ON IT.

Whoa buddy, harsh. Can you back off a bit? Because you're starting to make me bitter and resentful of the book. And I already have to keep reminding myself that the writing and the characters can make a book awesome even if the plot sounds totally unappealing.

Aww, you know I'm joking. A Diana embargo would fall through almost automatically. I mean, have you met me?

(You used a Katie icon. You know she is my weakness.)
