Okay, so I just finished Fire and Hemlock last night and I must say...Diana Wynne Jones...why are you so amazing?! I loved it so much. Of course, not as much as Howl, CitA and Chrestomanci, but it's right up there.
So from the start I said, yes somehow she will manage to get Polly and Tom together. Even when Seb and Leslie came around I was rooting for Tom, despite the obvious age difference between them, which wasn't as bad as I had thought from the start, but I suppose that was the point right? I mean my two favorite scenes were definatly when Tom hugged Polly before getting on the train and when they kissed before she forgot him. *sigh* I'm such a romantic sap. I do admit though I had some issues understanding the end. I have a vauge idea of how Polly won in the end against Laurel, but just for my reference would someone who REALLY got it explain. Much thanks.
