Owls to Padma and Valerius

Both owls carry thin packages, which when opened prove to be two quills made from a long, vivid blue feather, and a note:

Not entirely sure how well these will function as traditional writing-implements, but if nothing else they're decorative.

The parrot and I are negotiating a relationship. Progress is being made - I am no longer considering the benefits of exotic poultry stew, and it has mostly stopped trying to eat my extremities. It does seem to like beaking? chewing hair, which produces somewhat of a horrible palette clash when its attentions turn to Fred.
