Helpdesk conversation rant

Just spent half hour with helpdesk at work. Couldn't get any internet connection through LAN or Wireless. By the end of the conversation I just wanted to scream, so I politely said thank you and hung up before I started cursing him off.

Here are the highlights:

Me: I'm unable to connect online through LAN or Wireless

IMHO - IT and HR should only be hired as temps

Well have to disagree w/ you on that. It's not really IT and HR has nothing to do w/ it.
But the problem is that all helpdesk functionality is offshored. And the quality has gone down significantly.

Maybe IT went to lunch and the Indonesian janitor was having fun? :)

But serioualy, though, I love when they try to tell you that there is no problem and you just don't know what you're doing. Sorry. :(

I actually just fixed it. Just like I thought, I reinstalled Wireless client and now it's working fine.

LOL.. Yes he actually kept calling me madam. I asked him twice to call me by my first name, but didn't take. ;)
