As I sit in the tractor of my uncle's eighteen-wheeler listening to the radio, I can't help but think about the many, many surprises I have yet to encounter. No amount of preparation of any kind seems to be adequate when shoved through the doorway of the present into the future. It feels akin to a free fall, a lateral slide. -
