I loved the episode. I was definitely not expecting that twist at the end. I really blew me away. I hope Peter comes back soon. We know he will, he and Walter and Olivia are the core of the show. Fringe wouldn't be the same without either of them. Without Peter we wouldn't have two beautiful relationships which are essential to the show. So I don't think he'll be missing for too long
( ... )
Plus if Josh gets paid by the episode he'll probably have something to say about coming back quickly. Hee.
Yeah, I'm hoping that what Josh and John meant was the whole "love triangle" aspect distracted rather than just Peter and Olivia's relationship itself. If nothing else it seems pretty clear that Wyman and Pinkner are shippers, so I'm not too worried on that score. :)
I AM NOT SMART ENOUGH TO UNDERSTAND THIS SHOW. :((
I don't really get the Peter/Olivia romance, so I'm okay if they go in a different direction, but I do think the show will be missing a lot if Peter isn't involved with the other characters, especially with Walter. That dynamic is the whole show.
I also don't understand how any of these characters can even be in this situation if Peter "never existed." Was it inevitable that Walter cross over and screw up the other side, even without Peter? Did he end up in the hospital because of that? How did Olivia get him out of the hospital without Peter? IDEK.

According to Wyman those are exactly the questions we should be asking, and next season will be exploring them. So you're perfectly smart enough, you're not supposed to be understanding any of this just yet. :)
Agreed re: the dynamics, and I'm sure the EPs know that too, so I don't think we'll be deprived of it for too long.
I can't imagine they'll keep Peter away from Walter for long, since that's where the heart of the show lives and they know it. They might make us wait a little longer for Peter and Olivia to find each other again, just to torture us, but not too long, hopefully.
Didn't one of the showrunners say something in one of the interviews (I forget which one, I've read so many they're blending together) about us finding out eventually what happened to Broyles in Detroit? If so, that sounds like they're going to spend more time in the futureverse, so we'll at least get some pining widowed!Peter and Walter. Or maybe they'll even find a way to back up a bit and show us some of what happened before Olivia died, which means we'll get more married!Peter and Olivia. One can hope.
I'm finally caught up on this and I can't believe I almost quit it in the middle of the season! I think there are a few I never did see, but I seem to be following what's going on, so they were probably filler.
Thank you so much for saying that Josh will be back. I like, JUST finished watching the ep and was very distressed. :) Just when I think there is nowhere left to go with this show that I will be interested in watching they surprise the crap out of me twice in two minutes and I can't wait for next season.
Also love future Peter and Olivia. Josh does that "happy with the love of my life" thing so, so well.
My only complaint: where was Lincoln Lee!
THISSSSSSSS. I really wanted him to show up on "our side" in the future.
What is that gif from? Is that one of the eps I missed?
Did you hear that Seth Gabel has been made a contract player for next season? So excited!!! I will even take a little less Peter if it means more Lincoln.
The gif is from the episode where they find the cortexiphan guy who can hear other people's thoughts (except Olivia's) and they go to this gala at the end...blanking on the episode's name. It's the only one where Peter's worn a tux, so. :)
