Comcast mishap

A guy orders the Comcast high-speed internet installed at his house and it results in an unexpected explosion when the technician hooks up what he believes to be the right cable. It's hard to explain what happened, sufficing to say it -looked- like the right cable. Leave a comment

I'd see if Apple could rebuild the computer in the old tarnished case, because that would be awesome.

My question is, what the hell did the tech connect to that would supply enough power to fry not only the modem, but everything else in the chain? How could the tech have found a "similar" cable that had a connector that looked like a coax connector? He must have had to have spliced that cable into a power line or something. :/
