Stand By Me

I forgot how awesome of a movie Stand By Me is. It's one of the best coming of age films I've seen... if not the most plausible. It's also got an awesome, awesome cast -- Cory Feldman, Will Wheaton, River Pheonix (rest his soul), to name a few. Last time I saw it I was 15 or so, and it had an impact on me then... that's not quite the same as it is

The Body is a novella by Stephen King, and is part of a book called "Different Seasons".

Apt Pupil, a story about a young man who discovers an actual Nazi SS Officer living in his hometown, is also in there and was also made into a movie starring Ian McKellen.

Stand By Me is much more awesome, though, because EVERYONE can relate to a coming-of-age story.

I saw Apt Pupil when I was a lot younger, by the way. Looking back, that was a pretty scary movie. Ian McKellen was perfect for the role.
