Not drama just a question! We are starting a new forum and want some opinions. How do you like to see drama dealt with on boards? I know some forums just delete and ban but that seems kind of... bossy. Obviously the board should not be overrun with drama though. What if there was a separate forum on the board that you had to join (but all members ( Read more... )

I personally prefer not seeing the drama. It's being protected from all the garbage that people spew out.

So I would say that having a separate place for it would be good. I belong here but I chose to join and to read. It's much better than being blindsided by it. When someone posts here I know what to expect.

I totally agree with you. I'd much rather have the choice if I want to see it or not. Thanks for your thoughts, I appreciate it!

You need to have some pretty heavy handed moderation, else the places goes to shit.

It's bossy, but you'll see why..

I agree to an extent. In a situation where someone sells, say, 10 diapers and then disappears for weeks and weeks with no explanation, though, shouldn't the members have somewhere they can talk about it? I mean I've seen people banned on other boards for 'outing' scammers. It just seems kind of weird. I agree that on the main forum, there needs to be some control, but it seems like there should be a balance. I'm not really talking about the kind of 'drama' where someone is all bent because a wahm took a week too long on their custom order or etc etc. Thank you for your thoughts, definitely something to think about.

And it turns into a witchhunt, and then everyone feels sad when they find out something tragic happened to the seller.

I was on a forum with something similar, it was really hard for the admins to control. seems that mothers can't be trusted not to go back to highschool antics and that's /so/ boring.

I definitely see your point. I guess we will have to try to figure out a way to make it work.

Maybe a 'section' for it that members can choose to join within the board?
