Golden light, bus morning

Finally, I accomplished riding the bus to work this morning. I have a free bus pass through my employer but I had not used it until today. It is something I have wanted to do as a small contribution to solving one of the many problems that plague this world, our country, my state, and city - fossil fuel excessive over dependence. This sounds just lovely. I used to take the bus (many years ago), and I remember it as being a good experience. It sounds like a wonderful thing to be able to enjoy a book on your morning commute!

Your committment to living in accordance with your values is admirable. I need to figure out a way to use public transportation or carpooling until the light rail is up and running. My little McKenna gets decent mileage (20.4 miles/gallon), but we could do better. Carpooling and telecommuting are the most attractive environmentally friendly options to me. Maybe I can work from home one day, ride the bus one day, and carpool one or more days... hmm. Even cutting down driving to one day would help, so if I can figure out the other 4 days, I'd be doing something to contribute.

You've inspired me to pull this issue from the back of my mind and set it firmly in the front, where it belongs! Thank you. =)

Check out http://www.valleymetro.org Route 72 may be for you? =)

I hope to make the tiniest bit of difference in issues that matter. We visited our local pet shelter Friends for Life and made a donation last weekend. To act simply makes me feel less desperate and hopeless. There is some hope when I respond to what matters to me. I am even more overjoyed when others respond, as you did. Thank you so very much. You and Nick live a "low impact" aware existence and I am so grateful for that.
