I said somewhere in there that it's not necessarily the settling down and getting married that is ingrained in us but that it is natural for us to have relationships of any kind (just like a herd, pack, flock would in the animal kingdom). Being in a monogamous relationship even within lesser animals isn't totally unheard of even thought it is uncommon. Of course we as people are going to push marriage because we created marriage, animals don't need to sign a paper or buy a ring to say they are "together" even when they do mate for life. As far as marriage goes, it definitely is pushed by society but I was thinking more in just a relationship with someone as opposed to being married to them. There are definitely parts involving relationships and family life that is not "accepted" but I was thinking more toward the actual drive of wanting to be with a person and wanting to make babies, haha.
