I spent a good part of last weekend at the now infamous Camp for Climate Action in Edinburgh, and thoroughly enjoyed it. It wasn't a perfect utopia, but neither was it the hooligan jamboree that has been reported in the media. I think you should write either to police compliants or a newspaper, that's shocking.

It's not really - this kind of thing is par for the course with a lot of activism, and to be honest there's already a more serious complaint going in about press releases the police issued, with much better grounds (this incident can all be put down to police following procedures, whereas there were other times when the rule book went out the window). On the Monday, the police put out a press release attributing an oil spill on the roads to Climate Camp protesters, and that has lead to the Camp taking a serious kicking in the media. But there have been no arrests or charges over it, the police haven't produced evidence of the oil being spilled by protesters they couldn't identify, and there hasn't even been any photographic evidence of there having been anything on the road in the first place ( ... )
