I was at the mall recently, hanging out with Jessica, as is often the case (much to her boyfriend's dismay). I noticed the way people were walking- in various lines and layers, and with the same cadence. Not just in step with the people they were immediately with- one could follow a rhytm back a good hundred feet, possibly farther, I couldn't tell

palahniuk's "diary". i know brandon doesn't really like it and will likely tell you as much, but he presents a somewhat similar theory on creativity and artistic merit... it's a bit of a nihlistic (as palahniuk is sometimes wont to be) outlook, and as a work of fiction the one that definitely requires the most out the reader to suspend his belief in reality, however as i said, the theories inherent in the work are worth checking out.
