I'm glad I got to see Melina and Sami on friday. I'm in Tallahassee now and have a paper to finish writing for tomorrow, and a Balsabridge I have to start building and finish for Thursday. It's kind of nice to be back in my room...but I can't wait to get out of here. On the plus side, it is so beautiful outside and I'm looking forward to being tan ( Read more... )

Tati- I thought you might like this, even though it could be seen as kind of undermining my whole argument about your staying in school:

It is the very first entry of The Unabridged Journals of Sylvia Plath

(She was 18 when she wrote this the summer after she'd graduated high-school)

July 1, 1950

I may never be happy, but tonight I am content. Nothing more than an empty house, the warm hazy weariness from a day spent setting strawberry runners in the sun, a glass of cool sweet milk, and a shallow dish of blueberries bathed in cream. Now I know how people can live without books, without college. When one is so tired at the end of a day one must sleep, and at the next dawn there are more strawberry runners to set, and so one goes on living, near the earth. At times like this I'd call myself a fool to ask for more...

wow that's a beautiful journal entry, and it describes exactly how I feel and want to live. and it's funny because sometimes I'll do exactly that, buy some blueberries and eat them outside on some random grassy hill...and it reminds me of the times in Spain that my dad would send Pat and I out into the country to pick rasberries to later eat with some yogurt. When I'm at school I just find myself wondering why life can't be like that all the time. I guess that's where we differ in opinion: I think it can be just like that all the time; maybe you don't. I'm not trying to assume here, but even if you don't feel that way I know that others do. You have to take the good with the bad. I say nay.
Thank you
And that's not to say I am dropping out (at least not right away), but that's how I feel and I really really appreciate the post :)

im going to post way randoml off topic after i comment about that, life is what you make it, you can do anything with your conscious reality, so if you want to live everyday eating fruit and living out in the country i say go for it. Anyway wasnt sure if you knew or not, but me and dave arent comming down till the 4th, and i wanted to ask if you have a dvd player cause if you havent seen what the bleep do we know im forcing you to watch it :D

Yeah I have a dvd player (well all of my roommates do so that'll do) and you don't have to force me to watch it b/c I'd love to watch it. You definitely have to bring it down. And no I didn't know you weren't coming down til the 4th. You both suck. See you then.
