Absolutely nothing can make me care about this paper. Absolutely nothing. Even though it's due tomorrow, and even though it's a significant part of my grade.
Hallo! I really like it. It's fun and snarky yet insightful at the same time. I'm a reader of their website so I knew just the sort of thing to expect. They posted a couple of promotional segments if you want a test-read, or it's apparently stocked in real-life Barnes and Nobles.
It's also been somewhat of an education for me, because I've only recently gotten into romance.
Just clicked on your journal, so now I see that you're reading it too! More detail, then. I'm only a few chapters in (the heroine chapter, specifically) so I haven't gotten to the choose a man titty or the color by number yet. I greatly enjoyed the flow chart, however, as well as the species of heroine. What are your thoughts?
Ahh, I'm only a chapter ahead of you. I just finished up with Chapter Codpiece at work this afternoon. I got a copy at the library, but I also ordered one online (only to find it was an ARC, so it's my note-taking copy) and one is coming in to the local bookshop sometime soon. No one stocked it without my prompting! :(
I love it. There are parts that are a little clunky and it feels like they're trying to be academic but then threw in some humor, so the wording feels weird. But overall I think it's great; exactly what I was expecting from them as well. My only issue with it is that there's so much creative swearing that my library can't broadcast Sarah's reading on The Library Channel. And I mean, I like the snark, and I think it'll help bring in new readers the same way Stitch 'n Bitch did for knitters, which will be friggin sweet. But at the same time, it also alienates a huge group of people who would be offended by all the talk of Magic Hoo Hoos and cuntmonkeys. There were so many women at work this morning who were
