I've been home alone with my thoughts all this week, and let me tell you, I WAS BORED AS HELL. When I was in high school I had the most vivid dream of my life. I won't get into detail, but the one thing it left me with was the feeling that the number 27 is somehow important (in a bad way) in my life. I'm coming up on year 26 and it kind of ( Read more... )

Have you ever considered getting a PhD in the English field...so you could teach at a collegiate level?

One thing I've noticed about colleges, in general, is that the students actually want to be there and are willing to work. Okay, so maybe some people we know were exceptions...but, still, it's an idea. It allows you to teach but it also allows for intellectual advancement.

Sorry it took me so long to respond. I forgot that the address I had associated with this account was my Luther address, which they disabled some time ago.

I've thought about college, but I don't think I'm a good enough teacher to really make any sort of difference. It's a been a crisis of identity lately. I keep trying to come up with something that I'm good at and I keep coming up short.

According to attributes 1, 2, 3, 6 and 7 maybe you should consider admissions counseling or something more on the task of getting college kids into your college. You like talking to people and can learn quickly about them in order to think about it with the proverbial stick and put them on the track that's right for them. Still in education, mostly, but not dealing with the little fukkers to the point it pisses you off.

Sorry it took so long to respond, yadda yadda yadda (see Renee's response above).

I've seriously thought about admissions counseling, but it's a highly sought-after job. Most openings are filled internally (giggity) and I've never found myself in the position to apply as quickly as is usually needed. I'm keeping a weather eye out, though, just in case. Thanks for the note!
