Thanks! Even a good P&S camera is going to be limited by its on-camera flash. The reason some of these pics have such even looking lighting is that I'm using a hand-held slave flash with a diffuser that fires when it sees my camera flash go off. And my LX3 has a Flash compensation, so I set that to 2 stops of power less than it thinks it needs. The slave I can fire from a different angle and really fill in the scene. The slave is also a more powerful flash so I've got more range when I need it. Where the off camera flash REALLY shines (heh, shines) is when I've got a white ceiling to bounce off of. But in a bar you're usually limited by a dark ceiling.
