People just assumed that everyday they got these weird cases. Sure while a lot of them did skirt the unbelievable they did have their fair share of normal. Todays case was one such case it turned out, sure there was some insanity at play but it was all without any supernatural elements to it. Their suspect however tried to make it seem out of the

"And you call this a slow day?" Stark asked, rhetorically, as she sat on the corner of her partner's desk. She'd taken to doing that since there wasn't really room for a desk of her own, not yet anyway. "The sarcasm in your voice makes me think you particularly don't believe this one," she added. She could read him, she didn't need to see the file to glean that.

"All in the same rural area. And two of the three witnesses have the same last name. Just seems a little off to me."

He lifted his eyes to look at his partner before sliding the file over to her. He always had her second opinion and he never just dismissed it. It helped them many times to have two different thoughts.

She picked it up off the desk and read it over, thinking out loud as she usually did. "What I don't understand is why it took until the third abduction for us to get the file," she said. "What were they waiting on?" But she bit her lip and skimmed the documentation.

"We can probably get there in an hour or so if we don't hit traffic."

"Small town they probably didn't want to draw too much attention. The FBI in town does just that. Or they assumed they had it handled."

It was how some small towns worked he'd learned along his career. No one likes to be out done, it was true even in the FBI. He checked his watch and nodded.
