I'm reading this book called Captivating, and it is about the mystery of the woman's soul- what makes us girls...well, us. It really makes me think

i want to shoot the woman who wrote this book. and give her a big round of applause for taking what womens libers fought for for the last ten centuries back to ground zero. for validatingand confirming in man's eyes every stereotype and misconception they have confined and gained control with. that idea that we want to be simple little girls, princesses and feminine that is the reason women have been oppressed and dominated and discriminated against, the reason it has been allowed becasue its 'what we want'. i cant decide what im more angry about-that a woman wrote this or that other women agree or are allowing this to be their opinion, allowing the book to be circulated..
It's too much to ask for when the female in question regards your acts of kindness as "not enough" or "not my 'love language'." Rather than give men a defined "rule of thumb," we're left with nit-picking and expectations. As if to be stabbed in the back as well, the female may then completely reject the man who gives her these fantasies, and instead will choose a lesser-minded fool as a boyfriend. When confronted on these matters, I have heard such blasphemous (at least in terms of common sense) statements as, "we only want what we have to work for."
Chivalry died when the woman decided she wanted more. And more.
no, chivalry hasn't died...maybe to the women that decide to degrade themselves by becoming objects of men's lust and showing off their bodies while claiming to be innocent... but to me, and many many girls i know, chivalry has NOT died. maybe you just haven't found the right girl.
I believe most women do want the things listed in this entry and that there is nothing wrong or degrading about wanting those things.
But women (and some people) want a little more than a dull life. They want somebody who is interesting, and somebody who is interesting enough to pursue is seldom still that interesting if the pursuit is too easy. Afterwards, if it is or is not enough determines the fate of the relationship, but the initial complication is something most everybody wants to some extent.
I contest most women, like most men, also want their share of shallow things, like super hott boyfriends, which often takes precedence over chivalrous and intelligent intentions.
