so yeah, i was struck by a car and b/c my phone isn't exploding with concern (aside from julia, kat, jackie, and sammie - very very much appreciated) i'll go into detail here in the event that others do care, but their fingers are broken preventing them to call ( Read more... )

I didn't know you got hit by a car! That's awful. I do hope you feel better. On the bright side, you do have a good story to tell, because the accident sounds pretty spectacular.

I am glad you're okay, though. Next time, let the paramedics do their job!

And I didn't mean to sound insensitive about saying you have a good story--I am concerned, I just think that since it was your accident you have the right to tell the story! Also, I'm a writer, that's how I think of things. Foot in mouth?

you dont have to listen to me, but i think you might be wrong about some people and "there is no such thing as a self-less good deed". some people actually help others because they genuinely care about others' well-being. and the only reason it comes up at the dinner table is its because getting hit by a car is a big deal...

a big enough deal that its perfectly normal for police/paramedics to come. legal issues! fault and liability and shit! you could probably take that person to court, striking a 100+ lbs girl crossing the street with a 2,000+ lbs motor vehicle isnt just a minor fuck-up

i'm sorry to hear about that. i thought it was completely my fault b/c the light was green, which is why i wanted just to get out of there and was super nice to the driver. but now i don't know. a friend's friend witnessed the actual accident and said it was definitely the driver's fault, that he was speeding.

i really like the 'Americans are litigious' comment

I'm hoping I am just misinterpreting the tone and attitude of this entry. There are a lot of things to comment on that I don't think would be entirely appropriate on livejournal, so I'll call you a bit later. Hopefully you'll feel like talking.
And I'm happy you are okay and hope you feel better soon.

What about the admittedly unlikely event that others do care, but you didn't tell them.
