i've considered adding a link to livejournal on my facebook page, but that's just a really stupid idea isn't it? if one were so inclined they could find all the stupid crap i freak out about w/just a few clicks BUT it would remind me to update more often & w/more enthusiasm than cheesy stat one liners... your thoughts ( Read more... )

Something about facebook interlinking with livejournal makes me cringe. I have only several good friends on Lj, where facebook is... less discerning. I wouldn't want many facebook friends reading my entries.

One thing you should never do is delete journal entries for good, just copy and paste them into a word file and keep it, or print it and keep it, or post it here. Just don't delete them altogether.

I don't see how reason 1) about economists is true (I think economics is separate from -misms), or how it would influence you to be one. Do you consider yourself a pessimist? If so, do you like being a pessimist? If not, wouldn't you want a field that doesn't promote pessimism?

there's a great deal of people i don't want to read my lj but i was gambling on the probability that they wouldn't care enough to... that's pretty ballsy/stupid, i know.

i can't rely on my computer to save anything, not even my external hard drive it turns out, so i kinda have to rely on websites - as shitty as that sounds.

i'm not a pessimist nor would i enjoy being one. i'm oddly optimistic about everyone else's problems but pessimistic about my own. & the only reason i said that about economists is b/c my professors get strangely excited when something catastrophic occurs.

i think pessimism can promote itself without my help - that's a very pessimistic thing to say but, subjectively speaking - seems like everything from the most talked about media - the television - is either on bad news &/or only caters to bad news.
