I can't even begin to sum up how I feel right now.
First off, Muhlenberg went well, I am very excited for college.
Secondly, at 11 pm on November 4th, 2008....Barack Obama and Joseph Biden were elected the next President and Vice President of the United States of America. Barack Obama IS the USA's 44th President.
I will live to see the inaguration of the first Black president.
I cried so hard during Obama's speech, because for once I feel like an American. I feel pride in my country. Hell, this is the first time I have ever felt like it is my country.
And seriously, I respect John McCain so much that it killed me to watch his speech...However, those republican assholes who boo'd Obama's name when McCain was trying to be respectfull, fuck you. Seriously. You've wrongfully controlled America for too fucking long. Our generation has spoken. We believe in change, we believe in Barack Obama, and if you can't take that, then get the fuck out of this country. It's people like you who make this seem like such a shitty place to live when it should be the greatest country on Earth.
I haven't even mentioned MATT LESSER! OUR Matt fucking Lesser is now our state rep. It's amazing. He thanked me personally, and I knew he meant it. I made a difference. We, a bunch of 17 year olds from Coginchaug High School, made a real difference...That's what I think America is about.
Also, to all of you who are upset that mccain lost, and you will say that you will be moving to canada/australia. FUCKING DO IT. Obviously, if you have watched any television today, barely anyone agrees with your upsurd, racist, obnoxious, outdated believes. We're better off without you. I doubt you'll even be welcomed anywhere else. For your information, nearly every other country favored Barack over McCain.
Despite my extreme political passions, I am still in awe of what my country just united to do. As Pierce says so eloquently, "My president is black."
