I know exactly how you feel. I told my dad I was going to Europe on a school tour this summer, and he started screaming at me.

I honestly wish I didn't have a family 90% of the time - I'd probably be a lot happier and more independent.

Yeah, I know the feeling. I'm kind of lucky in that respect, because my family is scattered all over the country, and I kind of do live on my own and everything, BUT my mother and my grandma call me constantly, and if I don't answer one of them they call each other and freak out about it together and then they call me some more and freak out on me like "why haven't you called your grandmother back yet for fuck's sake lindsey?!?!" Ugggh. They're a team of evil, gossip-y women, and although neither lives especially close to me, they're still completely unavoidable.

Family is silly, and seemingly rather unnecessary.

They're people that worry about you because they don't understand you, so they choke you with worry until you get so sick of their shit, you ignore them, and then they get mad.

Is there an answer to this riddle somewheres? How can we crack this problem, ya think? Or is it a timeless inevitability?
