The beginning was like a time-loop, Kathryn was dying several different deaths and ending up at the beginning, but then she was like a ghost. She saw her own funeral but nobody could see her. An alien looking like her dead father tried to lure her to go with him into the light, but she refused. In the end she wakes up, still at the planet with Chakotay. The Doctor got to her just in time.
