Ceccarelli is indeed impressive, though it's not apparent why Birds was at microfest. How much of the piece is that excerpt? Browsing Gann, his L'itoi Variations interested me most, though he got me to look into La Monte and Marian's purple piano project, which makes me curious whether Wyness had a rationale for that scale--slendro ( ... )

Birds is maybe 5x as long as that excerpt. It was the only solo-instrument-and-tape piece out of the 12 or so over that weekend that kept me awake; excited even.

I think Wyness mentioned slendro - he certainly did a lot of auditioning traditional scales for himself. Probably Greek in origin though.

Your past London experience sounds thrilling. I hope it's not a long time until I can return. Donald Bousted suggested that I could do udderbot for one of his Wild Dog music-and-video events...

I handed out CDs to like 3 people, but that was all I had. At the udderbot presentation, which was a slightly different group of people, people heard the udderbot sextets and the Elitist Rumba.

This is more of an email question than a journal question, but how is the 17-tone thing going? I have a concert date nailed down: May 7th. Is't possible?
