Hey its Jay! I have a quick knitting question:

have you ever run across any buddhist knitting patterns? It was the weirdest thing, I was in Disney World and saw a whole troop of monks walking past and they had the most amazing saffron colored knit hats on!! I'm assuming they knitted them themselves seeing as how they do other tedious tasks like making mandalas. I have never seen anything like these hats, they were just regular old beanie skull cap type hats but the stitching was beautiful.

So I picket up 3 skeins of Louet woll in a color they call harvest moon, it looks perfect but I'm lost as to what sort of pattern to use. I'm looking through my cabling book and may just make some nice cabled hats and not try to stay true to what theirs looked like but I'd like to find some folky patterns if I could.

I hope everything is great with you and yours!! Also, do you know of a good place to buy a swift and ball roller or a good set of instructions as to how to make one?

Most yarn stores have swifts and ball rollers for sale if they don't they will let you use theirs if they are a nice store. If no local stores have the swift and ball rollers you can get them on line any number of places ( ... )
