I finished season 3 of The Wire.

I'm finally getting why everybody gets such a hard on over that show. Not sure if I want to jump into season 4 quite yet. It takes a lot of effort to watch.

Season 4, in my humble opinion, is the best of the show. But yeah, give yourself some breathing space. You'll need it.

As said above, season 4 is the best season of The Wire. It also happens to be the best season of any television series ever. Taking a break is pretty important though - its conclusion is even more devastating and uplifting than any before it. The missus had to take several weeks in between episodes to give herself a break.

It is also some sort of crime that Andre Royo has gone without a single major award nomination.

SERIOUSLY! The man does five amazing years on the Wire and then all he gets is a minute and a half on Heroes? Booooooooooooooo.

Heroes? But that ended after one season. And didn't have other actors from The Wire or superior shows like Veronica Mars who were as a result thoroughly wasted in increasingly stupid storylines where they are Peter Petrelli or they sleep with the person who killed their father and then don't fight back when they're getting killed or something.

And if you think Royo is good in seasons 1 to 3, oh are you in for one of the greatest treats on offer. If I could wipe my brain of one memory, it would be him as Bubbles, just so I could enjoy it again from start to finish.
