angry post about elementary and steven moffat's FANS fuckin fans
instead of ranting angrily into a computer i am going to split this rant into 3 parts, we'll call them issues. if you are easily offended by the half stupid attitudes of a 17 year old you shouldn't bother. and also, you should probably unfollow everyone on your tumblr account, as they are all around the same age.
issue 1 - gender in sherlock
the fact that a woman was cast in elementary as an actual main character (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), canonically portrayed as a man, does not affect you. you do not have to watch this show. all it shows is how society is actually progressing, bearing in mind that conan doyle published sherlock fucking donkey's years ago, and didn't even like him very much. if "sherlock" stories were adapted to fit today's .........equal(??? no but as equal as you've got so far),society it might, and should, actually star a woman of importance.
a woman that isn't just wank fodder for male viewers too even though lucy liu is really fit don't lie to yourself she is actually capable of being more than a lump of flesh with tits believe it or not
just because canon had two main male characters and "sherlock" had two main male characters does not mean in any fucking way shape or form that this adaptation with female Watson will be automatically bad.
as good as canon and the adaptation are they can lead to other things, such as sherlock holmes 2009 starring gareth david lloyd, and that was fucking awful
also the sherlock adaptation was not the second reincarnation of god it wasn't actually that good and had a lot of problems with it
issue 2 - sexuality in sherlock
i thought fans would actually be happy that there is some possibility of a relationship between the sherlock figure and the watson figure????? because that would fuel their otp 5 life but whatever

it might actually be the fault of america to introduce sex into everything but it's not going to be the plot really is it
the plot is a detective and americans do crime better than anyone ever shut up
just because moffat is scared of people who don't register as white male heterosexuals doesn't mean everyone else fucking does in fact americans are more likely to create characters with different sexualities because it's still new and interesting AND WILL ATTRACT MEDIA ATTENTION!!!!!
careful world soon there'll be equality of sexualities then you should start panicking :)
maybe even they'll make watson asexual! or holmes asexual! or mycroft may fancy john! (i wish) or maybe lestrade might!

well this is basically cos the producer of sherlock said they would sue pbs if elementary was anything like sherlock.
which is fair enough because they adapted it into a modern setting first. well, they weren't the first, but certainly probably the best at doing so. however, at the end of the day, each and every sherlock holmes adaptation be it film or fiction is a pastiche of conan doyle's original works and if he was alive he would be suing left right and fucking center
american skins was a flop
american office was a joke to a lot of people
american shameless was shite
however
american sherlock holmes (the downey jr/law version) was
really

good
and in my opinion PBS will in fact try to emulate the film meaning canonical STUDIES!!! and hopefully moran
